April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born on July 4 in 1995. As a seventh-grade student, she started taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. It was this that ignited her love for songwriting. The first song she wrote was called Different which she composed at the age of 12. When April was 14 years old, she devoted an enormous amount of time creating song ideas and perfecting her music. After that, she started taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY and LA. April featured other topics in her hit song"Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart has her own following and is an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. It's true that she was born without a left hand, and it creates her unique. However, this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her Instagram account, but she doesn't make it the focus of it. What message is it sending? It's this That we all carry many identities, we're more complex than we think we're. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability is what defines my character. It's not my intention to be an influencer on disability because I have so much more to offer." It doesn't impact my daily life. I carry on doing my job as normal and have developed my own methods to adjust. This is also part of me, and I believe it's something that needs to be addressed. Self-acceptance is a long marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration on that front. Even so, Lockhart admits to going through periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance, and the clothes which displayed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and posts photos of herself dressed in outfits she wears on social platforms. Self-love for her was an extended journey. It's true for all regardless of their degree of self-confidence. It's essential to have those in your life who know and understand your situation. They will be the ones asking your: What are you think about?
