Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic performance. Bela Karrolyi was an Romanian gymnastics instructor, who was later Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. She first competed in the national junior championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She took the title in 1970. In her very first international competition in 1972, she came out on top having won three golds. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals, as well as one silver. She was the first woman to ever successfully complete reverse double saltos after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment industry by performing in the form of figure skater. Along with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol ventured into the world of entertainment in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. Ice Capades was a show that featured ice-skating performed by actors.
